23 Aug Greater LA MFA Exhibition
Being in HB nudged between Long Beach and OC I take notice of what local schools around here are active in the local art scene and I would have to say hands down Cal State Long Beach is the winner. I run into those students everywhere. I wish I could say the same about some other OC schools. Anyway, why don’t we all return the favor and go support their little shindig this weekend called the Greater LA MFA Exhibition.
Greater LA MFA features approximately 55 visually striking and conceptually diverse works in a range of mediums by students representing 15 graduate programs throughout the greater
Los Angeles
area. The exhibition culminates with a film screening held in the University Theatre on the evening of the closing reception of the exhibition. The screening will show 15 short films by as many artists, making it an unprecedented gathering of student films from LA’s world-renowned film programs. Organized and curated by CSULB students, the exhibition and screening encourages dialogue among the young generation of LA artists/students.
