Have You Seen Jenna?

Have You Seen Jenna?

Jenna19 I started The Office in 2003 to give a voice to OC based contemporary artists who I thought needed to be seen. While I ran the space I’d interface with many artists and curators. I’d often hear horror stories about primadonna artists and their crazy demands etc. Quite honestly my experience as whole was very positive but one particular artist stands out. Her name is Jenna Gallemore. I met Jenna when she was 16 and I knew then she had talent. She was, even then one of those people who marched to the beat of her own drum. We became friends and I kept tabs on her. She even ended becoming one of my "Saints" for my Saint Series project. Her piece was the piece that was shown at MOCA Minsk. I eventually had the great pleasure of giving Jenna her first show at the gallery and it was great. She even received a great review in the OC Weekly. One of my proudest moments was when, after the show Jenna’s father called me to thank me for giving her the opportunity etc. That’s what made all the hard work worth it.  Jenna, sad to say also had some demons, that’s really how I came in contact with her. Last I heard she was in San Francisco. I hope she’s doing well and I hope she is still shooting. It’s the creative process that will save us. Have you seen Jenna?
