Via the Grand Central Art Center Blog the new Sandow Birk book The Depravities of War is now available! He also has a show opening at the CSULB University Art Museum (nice new site) that will open on Nov. 8th at 6pm where they will be showing work by both Sandow and Jacques Callot. This Saturday night my curator friends Jackie Bunge & Joanna Grasso will be presenting Domestic Departures at the Cal State Fullerton Visual Arts Center. They have done an outstanding job of putting together a real blockbuster that will include Candice Smith Corby, Amy Cutler, Kiki Smith, Rosenclaire, Ruby Osorio, Kara Walker, Christina Smith, Carrie Yury and special guest William Kentridge. Last Saturday night I ran down the mountain to catch the Gabriela Leon opening at the Sweeney and also see Perry Vasquez and Victor Payan's project. It was the first time I visited the new space and it's nice. I look forward to watching what new Director Tyler Stallings does over there.
