Headed over to SoundWalk 2005 in Long Beach tonight and It was great time. There was a great crowd and I ran into a few familiar faces like Michele Jaquis, xtine and Carrie Yury. Yesterday I passed on the surf and headed up north to meet Mark Dutcher at his Culver City studio. Had the opportunity to see his new work and hang out and talk for a while. I'm very excited to report that we'll get a chance to see some of this new work in the OC early next year at The Office. More on that later. This Saturday the LBC will be the place to be to catch the opening of Soundwalk 2005. Be sure to catch The Office's November artist Carrie Yury's sound installation on the corner of Elm and Ocean. You might remember me mentioning them back in January. I caught a couple of re-broadcasts last night. Happy to report there's actually something to do in the OC this week. This Thursday the creative folks at Chop Shop TV will be hosting an art event at their offices. Featured artists will be Mary Hackett, Aaron Carretti & Jenny Hager. The opening is from 5 to 9pm. I think I'm going to have to go just to support someone else showing art in their office...

This Saturday after running through LA we made sure to stop at Enview Gallery in Long Beach to catch the opening reception for artist Robert Fontenot. I had known of this space for a little while but this was my first visit and I was quite impressed, both with the space and the work of Robert Fontenot. Enview as I understand it is a collaborative effort between Autumn Beck and Chloe Flores and their mission is to have 2 month shows featuring various local artists....
